The Prepared Homestead: one of the ways to charge the battery bank is through solar panels, can you give us a quick demo?
Tactical Woodgas: sure. One of the beauties of this is you can be utilizing the battery bank for whatever means and at the same time you can be recharging it. This will extend the life of the battery. If you’re not using it, you can be topping it off in this manner. Folding solar panels, watt meter
During the video we see the panels providing about 31 watts of power flowing into the battery bank. Keeping in mind the battery in the video is essentially fully charged. If the battery was not topped off we would probably see 60 watts flowing in with full sun. It is very useful to have a watt meter with this system.
